Benedict Inn presents an exhibit of 17 prints and the full size reproduction of Gospels and Acts from the St. John Bible. The exhibit will run from August 6-29 and lunch is available by reservation. Workshops will be given throughout the month. Exhibit hours are Mon-Sat 9am-noon and Mon-Sun 1:00-4:00pm. Groups are welcome, but need to register in advance. This exhibit is free through the generosity of John M. Lawrence, Consultant of Medieval Manuscripts, Evansville, IN. Workshops and lecture fees range from $10-$35. Michael Morwood will lead a retreat Aug. 8-14 at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. The retreat is hosted by White Violet Center for Eco-Justice, a ministry of the Sisters of Providence. The theme is “God, Prayer and Liturgy in a New Story of the Universe”. Discussion will focus on a Christian spirituality grounded in belief that everyone and everything is connected to God. | Women in Service to Appalachia |
This is a one-week service project July 24-31 in Manchester, KY (approximately 2 hrs. south of Lexington). Our volunteers work in cooperation with Kentucky Mountain Housing. You will live in rustic, dormitory-style housing with other adult Catholic women. We will perform home repair/building tasks and other short-term projects as needed by the community. Every day you can hear the Mass at 8:00 a.m. and noon, the Rosary at 7:30 a.m. and lots of interesting Catholic-oriented talk shows.
